The main character was overdone as to be unbelievable. IN FACT the characters were so flawed as to be unreal. It was an interesting plot with dead people and no one was accountable
Enjoyed the book/series very much. Don't care too much for the sex scenarios and thought the plot was a bit stretched(The accountant did it) but did enjoy it and I look for ward to her next book.
Engaging characters, good plot line and humor in the writing. I especially like it because it was staged in an area that I am familiar with.
An interesting story line that keeps one going. Very familiar with many of the places mentioned so made it extra enjoyable read. Suspense was there although at times the story dragged. Have already purchased and am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.
This is a very interesting read for anyone who knows New Jersey or visits "the shore." I read it in the spring, but it would be a good beach read. The characters are so complex I felt I wanted to know more about them - there is enough potential for 10 books or more in my opinion. There is violence but it was more like action-adventure than horrifying. I read a lot of genre mystery books and it is a high compliment for me to say that this book was unusual in a good way. The author has a unique voice and is not afraid of it.
A good story begins, and then rambles on endlessly to a terribly deflated conclusion.
Could have, would have, should have, didn't.
Disappointed.
I've always found writing to be an art. This series proves such. To be able to intertwine two books so well is something only great artists can do and C.E. Grundler has done just that. I gave the previous book four stars just because I wasn't familiar with nautical measurement, but it was through this book that I realized that the nautical terms used were used as a means to get further understanding of how Hazel' s mind works. It was truly an "ah-ha" moment for me. It definitely takes some creativity to do that. Thank you for your writing and I'm grateful that I had the opportunity to read this series.
